When an English girl comes to stay a Molly's during World War II, she and Molly learn to bridge their differences and ultimately enjoy a wonderful, mutual birthday party

Molly gets her friends together for the school's Lend-a-Hand contest during Christmas season, as Americans on the home front pitch in to help win World War Two.

Molly feels that everything in her life has changed when her father goes off to England to help wounded soldiers and her beloved aunt joins the Women's Airforce Service Pilots. Includes a section on women pilots in the armed services, and a project related to the story
